His exposure to the stone industry gave him
an insight into the business of construction
materials specializing in natural stone
products.
One of the first products was the Coral
Stone Tiles, which could be found in his
hometown, Cebu. Coral Stone Tiles got
popular in the 70's but it was banned due to
the ecological consequences brought about by
quarrying the stones. The search for an
alternative stone began, which gave birth to
Shelled Limestones found in the
island of Mactan, also in Cebu. It had same
qualities
as the Coral Stones, readily
available and environment friendly. When
Shelled Limestone
Tiles were introduced, it immediately gained
wide acceptance. Thus, the popularity of
what is being called now as Mactan Stones.
As the demand for new stone products
increased, so did the various stone
finishes. Tower came up with new stone
products such as Sandstones, Woodstones,
Travertine, Basalt, Serpentine and Bulacan
Marble. Tower's production capacity is 3000
square meters per month.
In 1993 it was incorporated and its new name
became Tower Masonry and Stonecraft, Inc.
Since 1995, Tower has been exporting its
products to Florida and California, U.S.A.,
Japan, Australia, Korea and South Africa.
